The history of DALMARD MARINE began in 1922 in Paimpol when Armand Le Guen, a sailor from Terre Neuvas/Newfoundland, decided to create oilskins and jackets to dress the fishermen of Iceland, faced with terrible living conditions on board. Today, the fourth generation of the family, Maxime Dalmard, has taken over this century-old family business.

Their flagship product? The pea coat, an iconic piece of marine clothing! Made in the purest tradition, DALMARD MARINE coats combine French elegance, authenticity and durability to be handed down from generation to generation. Faithful to its marine DNA, the company also creates ready-to-wear collections for men, women, mixed and children: kabigs (woman traditional Breton coat), sailor jackets, etc., where each garment tells a story.

100 years of French know-how. From the choice of buttons to the choice of linings, the brand pays particular attention to detail, to make each coat a unique piece. DALMARD MARINE designs its coats in Brittany and makes them with 90% French raw materials and 10% European raw materials fromBelgium, Italy, Germany…. What is the best part? The brand uses a French waterproof wool sheet, an insulating, breathable and comfortable fabric from its historical supplier based in the Tarn region, an exceptional French company labelled “Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant/Living Heritage Company.

DALMARD MARINE, a committed brand? “Quality, openness and commitment have guided us for four generations. Attached to maritime heritage, the company became an official textile supplier and distributor of the Belem Foundation in 2018 for which it contributes to the safeguarding of the oldest three-masted sailing ship in the world, by donating a portion of the sales of its capsule collection “Belem“.
